After years of teasing an album called Stoicville: The Phoenix, T-Pain has recalibrated and released Oblivion, his first proper album in six years. The album features a couple of songs that stretch over the 6 minute mark, one of those being “2 Fine,” a collaboration with L.A.s’ Tu Dolla $ign. In many ways, it’s hard to imagine an artist like Ty without T-Pain. Much like his predecessor, Ty is known for his proximity to rap.
his high number of scene-stealing guest appearances (primarily in the way of hooks), and his boundary-pushing songwriting and production on his own material. Here, he joins pain on a slow-burning R&B gem that finds the overlap in their styles. Another quality the two share is a proclivity for goofy-funny sex punchlines that sometimes verge on the absurd (“Put you dick up on the cake like a baker”.
